Lots of interesting stuff discussed at this seminar - I was glad I could make it. George is always a breath of fresh air amongst the politics and BS surrounding recreational scuba. He needs to clone himself and open a few dive shops.
I think PADI/DSAT are moving in the right direction with there changes, in particular they are at last addressing the apparent lack of new capabilitiues the student has after competing Apprentice Tec/Tech Deep level 1/ (whatever, insert latest spin word)
As a side issue, despite the course's attempt at training excellence, it is my personal opinion that these DSAT programs desperately need some decent watermanship skill tests in them before we throw fat b'stards into the high seas with 100Kg of kit on - (by all means use the PADi Divemaster watermanship test, that will do just fine) We have to somehow weed out them fat unfit blue bloated couch potatoes who get out of breath just walking from sofa to the refridgerator, who think they have the right to pay up and die with a heart attack during our courses ;-)

The comments re the Tec 40m need to be looked at in the context that the students are already qualified to 40m with PADI Deep and they must have done 6 dives deeper than 30m. Doing a dive with a small amount of deco with access to a deco tanks and possibly twins should not present problems
